Protein Cacao and Banana Smoothie Bowl

Now it’s so hot I crave something cool in the morning. I just wake up and want something refreshing and relatively quick to make. Smoothie bowls are always a win- not so much in winter. You just blend up some ingredients to make any flavour bowl you want, it’s genius. So refreshing and easy to eat.

This messy protein cacao and banana smoothie bowl was chocolatey and so smooth with so much flavour from the gorgeous ingredients I used. It took me 10 minutes to make this and loved every spoonful. Also, there are two ways of enjoying this which I’ll mention below.

Protein Cacao and Banana Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients:

15g mixed seeds. I used (Buy Whole Foods Organic Seven Seed Blend for Bread 1 Kg)

1 banana, frozen

10g tahini paste

50g oat milk (or any milk of choice)

2 tsp cacao powder

1 scoop chocolate protein powder (or vanilla) I used MY PROTEIN Impact Whey Protein Smooth Supplement, 1 kg, Chocolate

50g watermelon

For toppings 

30g oats

10g mixed seeds

Cherry compote (recipe here)

Method:

  1. Add all the ingredients except the toppings to a blender and blend well. (if need be add more water bit by bit)
  2. Add the smoothie to a bowl and top with the oats, seeds and cherry compote.

*Now, you can either mix all that up with a spoon and wait 5 minutes for the oats to soak up the liquid, or you can mix the oats and seeds separately first before adding to the smoothie and enjoy as a crunchy topping). I’ve had it both ways are they’re both just as good. One is a refreshing smooth bowl of oats which have soaked up the liquid, the other is a more crunchy breakfast.
